POPLA Appeal Draft to UKPC

Hello,
I received a private parking ticket from UKPC (UK Parking Control Ltd) 8 days ago on my windscreen, and I wasn't sure if they are a small company or a larger company where I should wait for the NtK.
Also would you advise that I try and contact the landowner first and get them to cancel it? If so what kind of complaint should be given to them

A strong complaint! Several ways - You were/are a good customer, the car park is not up to scratch, UKPC have blackened their good name etc.
And you do wait for the NTK with these guys - don't hand them your details for free and waste the first opportunity they have to mess things-up in your favour.
The period waiting to the NTK is a good time to go at the landowner and to read-up on the Newbies Sticky to get your appeal sharpened.0 -
For some reason, perhaps these two cases

Thanks for the replies guysA strong complaint! Several ways - You were/are a good customer, the car park is not up to scratch, UKPC have blackened their good name etc.
This was just private land so it isn't for customers, the car park is fairly standard. However I parked late at night so I didn't notice the sign saying it is private parking only for permit holders so I guess that would be the only thing to complain about.
Also the person in another recent thread in this forum said that his appeal got rejected by UKPC, should this be a worry for me?0 -
Remember the PPC is just after your money and however justified an appeal may be they will reject it.
Follow the process in the NEWBIES thread and the advice of the expert posters and they will guide you through the process of disentanglement (or should it be disengagement).REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -

90% of initial appeals are rejected! There'd be a lot more 'worried' motorists around if that was the case. In fact, other than an outright cancellation of the charge, a rejection (with a POPLA code) is the next best thing, because you will win at POPLA (provided you follow sticky advice).
You need to be confident and assertive over this. Follow the NEWBIES sticky thread and you'll be OK.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Okay and just to be clear, even though I did park in the car park that is only for permit holders, I still don't legally need to pay the 'fine'.
Extra problems like a parking ticket being issued when you have a permit, or there being no signs saying parking without a permit will result in fine, are not needed to win the appeal?0 -
It does get difficult when advice given (which has worked for hundreds upon hundreds of motorists) continues to be questioned to the nth degree.
If you doubt what we say here, that's fine, but the small number of us, giving voluntarily of our time, to help you with your problem (some of us from the other side of the world - Google is your friend!) have a hard enough time dealing with shedloads of newby queries day in, day out, to have advice queried at every turn.

Please do whatever you think is right.. It was just that on many threads on this forum I see people saying things like, the signings about parking were not clear or other similar problems. I was just making sure that these type of problems are not needed to win the appeal to POPLA. I understand now that it won't matter as part of the appeal.
The NEWBIE thread is also a great help, but for a newcomer it can take a while to fully understand it, that's partly why I had queries on the appeal process which I am understanding much better now.
If it came across as me questioning and/or not appreciating your advice then I apologise for that.0 -
Right, back on track!
1. Windscreen ticket - await NtK, to arrive 29 - 56 days after parking event.
2. Use template appeal as per NEWBIES FAQ sticky 'as is' - leave the 'rant' bit out if you feel uncomfortable with it - don't 'mess' trying to personalise it to 'suit your case'.
3. You are almost certain to be rejected - hopefully with a POPLA code.
4. Research POPLA appeal examples in the meantime - NEWBIES sticky, post #3 'How to win at POPLA' - plenty of time available while awaiting NtK.
5. On receipt of rejection/POPLA code, draft up your appeal here, we'll check you've got all bases covered.
6. Send off your appeal.
7. Win.
8. Get on with rest of your life.
9.
