People parking in-front of my bay and blocking me. :@0

Marvellous. After driving away a long-standing, knowledgeable and helpful poster by deleting his posts about this very consultation, you now start your own thread about it!
I really think someone owes trubster an apology.
Those who are of a more charitable frame of mind would suggest that a mod simply failed both to read the trubster's post and understand and recognise the relevance of the government's consultation process to the work done on this board to which trubster has contributed for some while. That they got things wrong is demonstrated by the existence of this thread.
Its not too late to apologise you know?My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Anyone who pays their vehicle excise duty ("road tax") has paid for the privilege of parking anywhere they are legally allowed to. That includes outside your property, if there are no defined parking restrictions there.
When are you going to start this campaign? Or are you sitting there, quietly fuming, waiting for someone else to do it?
Road tax only allows you to travel on the public highway not to park. The roads are there for the free passage of traffic, not parking, except as you say where there are clearly defined permissions to park which may be legally charged to defray the expenses of signage and road markings.
I suggest you read the Highways Act for a clear explanation of your rights to use highways for free passage or block highways by parking.0 -
Hi MSE Wendy,
Any signs of the overdue apology to Trubster yet?

Rich is not really the word but its good enough. Others might think that somebody considered they had been trumped and in a fit of pique stamped their feet and took it out on the obvious target - trubster. That of course would be excessively cynical.

I'm sure there must be a third explanation because either of those would highlight said mods unsuitability for the job.
I can't think what it might be though0 -
One must not be too hard on Internet on message board moderators. Often they are not usually persons at the top of their game, who are far too busy to read the often ill informed and badly written witterings of others, also with too much time on their hands, (amongst whom I include my good self).
As a result, people who volunteer thusly arepersons with moderate literary skills, moderate comprehension skills, moderate ability, and the products of a moderate education.iYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Errrrm - inflexible application of, and strict adherence to, a one-dimensional set of rules without any common sense being applied ?
Now who does that remind me of .............. :think:0 -
