Will proposed development effect my houses value?

Thanks for the advice.
My property is 5 years old so very new. Apparently the houses will be built within 2-3 years.
I hope the research into supermarkets proves true as it seems very likely this development will go ahead. From what I can gather we wont be able to see much of the development from our property, I think if it overlooked the entire development it would have a negative affect on the value.
Surely having a supermarket close to your property can only be a benefit given it doesn't block any views, increase traffic, noise etc. The town i reside in currently does not have any supermarket.0 -

Not going to do any harm if there's no supermarket nearby at present, but it's really unlikely to have a dramatic affect on future sale price.0 -

Thats a good point thanks. if all goes to plan my goal is to rent this property in around 2 years time. I wouldn't imagine it would have an affect on renting as much?0
