    I wondered about that.

They said they would get them as cheap as possible, though. So, if I had a list and put my own prices from Amazon that would be sufficient I would have thought?
  • I imagine you will have rung the sales/service department who wont really have a good understranding as to claims settlement.

DL will insist upon them replacing via their preferred supplier rather than you sourcing them yourself via Amazon or some online retailer

From the claims side, the first option is to replace using our own suppliers. They are however not as cheap as some people think (in particular mobiles are way more expensive than someony could buy them for)

If our own suppliers cannot deal with an item, we would ask the policy holder to get a couple of quotes for the repalcement. We would verfiy these via the net, but would not force a customer to use a supplier simply because it was cheaper by a couple of pence, mainly becuase if we 'force' a policy holder to use someone we dont normally deal with (i.e. Amazon) and they cocked up, we would have the policy holder moan at us for it.

Well, without knowing who their supplier is I can only go by the prices I see and argue with them later.
