Hi all, I'd appreciate advice and views from those with experience of letting out your own property via one of these companies, so that your contract is with the company rather than the tenant. What are the things to watch out for? I've read a few nightmare stories where the company can put whoever they like into the property and the landlord has no knowledge of any changes until they get the property back trashed. Of course there are good and bad tenants in any scenario but are these sorts of lets generally a good thing?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

It's a bad thing!
Never let your home to a company, it would not be a AST and you would have no control over who is placed in there.
You do not even have the safeguard of issuing notice to the actual tenants
, only to the company in accordance with your contract and you would have no control over who is placed in there.
I have never yet seen anyone posting that has said they were happy with the way their property was treated by the company.0 -
Thanks for that - much appreciated. You've underlined what I've been seeing elsewhere on the web.0
