I have just got Skype on my Pc and bought a basic microphone that has the pink plug on the end (I know being very technical arent I). I have plugged it into the hard drive and done the test call on skype but it's not working as when I speak I can't hear myself. I have looked for the obvious settings but can't seem to get it to work.
Help would be really appreciated.

ok sorry but when u plug in ur mic, it plugs into your pc. not your "hard drive"
double click sound icon bottom right of screen>options>properties>check recording>tick MIC (or font mic, maybe displayed diff) and click ok>untick the box and move bar to full.
do the same for playback. that should be it.0 -
Thanks for you reply, I have it plugged into the base unit. I now have it working but feels like I have to be on top of it and when playing back it sounds really faint. The sound on my pc is ok so is there a way I can increase the playback of the mic. I have done a test call and the person I sopke to said that I sounded ok just a bit echoey. I have found something on my monitor to turn this off but I just need to turn up the mic volume now.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

ukno how u went into the volume settings and moved the bar for the MIC volume, well go in again and do it, and untick as many boxes as u can and raise all the volume bars upto full.
dont forget to do it on playback and recording settings...0 -
