By over the counter do you mean Pharmacy medicines (they have a 'P' on the box), or just things you could pick up in a supermarket?

Items are either freely available (such as those you can buy in a supermarket), Prescription Only Medicines ('POM' on the packet), and Pharmacy medicines ('P' on the packet). The latter two cannot be sold ANYWHERE, except under the relevant supervised conditions. This is not an ebay rule, it is the law.

The relevant ebay page is here:

Ibuprofen if in a package marked POM (prescription only medicine) or P (pharmacy only medicine) may not be sold or supplied except under the supervision of a pharmacist (and in accordance with a valid prescription if POM).

If not marked with either of these symbols, or bears the letters GSL, then it can be sold - but the Medicines Act 1968 specifies that a GSL product may only be sold, offered, exposed or supplied within premises occupied by the person engaged in these activities and on premises which the person is able to close in order to exclude the public (i.e. this excludes car-boot sales). http://www.statutelaw.gov.uk/content.aspx?LegType=All+Primary&PageNumber=61&NavFrom=2&parentActiveTextDocId=1662209&activetextdocid=1662275

As far as I am able to determine, there is currently no restriction on the sale of GSL medicines via the Internet, except by limitation of the service provider's terms and conditions (e.g. eBay's rules).

Buscopan (depending on packsize) is either P or POM. Codeine Phosphate is a schedule 5 controlled drug and may not be sold or supplied except in accordance with a valid prescription.

You can search for the legal classification of medicines here:

I really would advise against selling medicines on E-bay, especially if you are a novice. People should be purchasing them from a place where they can get the necessary advice.
