can anyone help incapcity benefit

hi has anyone got any knowledge of incapcity benefit i started work in jan this year and was signed off two weeks later i got ssp which has now ran out i have applyed for incapicity benefit but i was a stay athome mum so have never really paid alot of stamp maybe only afew hundred will i be able to get incapcity if not is there anything i can get thankyou

  • If you haven't paid Class One Insurance Contributions you won't be able to claim IB but may be able to claim Income Support. This is means-tested.

    If you haven't paid Class One Insurance Contributions you won't be able to claim IB but may be able to claim Income Support. This is means-tested.

    To get IB you need to have paid enough National insurance in the last 2 years.

    But income support is based on household income. If there is a working partner then they get nothing.

    You cannot get IB, but may be able to get some help from means-tested benefits, depending on your circumstances:
