Paying by credit card when company doesn't take CC

I want to use a company to install something in my house, and I want to pay by CC, but the company doesn't accept them for payments, is there a way other than going to another company to do this, I've thought of Paypal to ourselves, but this is subject to a 3.4% fee + 20p!!
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

you have named your only options alreadyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Why do you want to pay by a CC?
A recent thread, still on the first page of the board:
Paying with credit card but merchant has no CC processing facilities. Any other way?0 -
Is your desire to use a credit card borne out of necessity (ie no savings) or security (ie 'protection' in case something goes wrong)?
If the former, then apply for a money transfer card from the likes of MBNA. If the latter, then you're snookered!0 -

Thanks for the link, yes it is mostly for that added protection of S75, but wouldn't get that with a transfer in Paypal. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Yeah it was the protection more than anything, so back to the drawing board and the phone book lolThanks to all the competition posters.0 -
In terms of the section 75 protection - presumably the company doesn't offer any form of finance / interest free credit etc?
If they did then that should also be classed as a 3 way agreement and give you the additional purchase protection. And if they charge interest you could always repay after a month or so to minimise it and would keep the protection.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
