Changing Holiday Dates

Hi,
Looking for some advice if possible. I have booked a Thomas Cook holiday via Barhead travel to Florida leaving on 29th of May and due to unfortunate circumstances the dates I am due to go are now comprimised.
Before I call Thomas Cook or Barrhead travel to see what can be done can anyone offer any advice for what can be done. I do not expect to get my money back but would like to explore options of changing the date to a later one in the future (big ask I know!)
Help is appreciated
Thanks

you need to check your documentation you have about date changes
there is some limited info on the TC website http://www.thomascook.com/travel-info/before-you-go/amendments
I expect that all your communication should be with Barrhead travel as your agent0 -
Its in cancellation, too close to the date to change for something else, between 49-29 days of departure its 70% loss of balance, 28-15 days 90% loss of balance. You could do name changes but you can't change all the names, so the only option you have left is insurance, is it an insurable reason?0
