Basket of investment trusts

Options
Looking for a basket of say 10 investment trusts with an overall average yield of 3.5 to 4.5% to provide a sustainable income.

Already hold city of London and Scottish mortgage both of which have done well

Basket required to offer greater diversification and more balanced than some of my existing individual share holdings.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Look at the Investors Chronicle top 100 funds for 2015. Good selection of Investment Trusts within that to make a diversified portfolio.

As kidsmugsy says, Luniversal regularly posts updates on his 'baskets' of investment trusts on the 'investing for income' board - http://boards.fool.co.uk/investing-for-income-51637.aspx?mid=13203115. There are two main baskets - the B7 which is lower starting yield but faster dividend growth; the other is the B8 with a higher starting yield.

Another source of investment trusts portfolio for income is via the diy investor blog - http://www.diyinvestoruk.blogspot.co.uk/p/portfolio.html

FWIW, I hold quite a few ITs - City of London, Murray International, Temple Bar and Finsbury Growth & Income. The Murray one has not done so well recently, but the income is still good - the Finsbury IT has done very well over quite a long period but the income is not very high.

Make sure you read the latest info on the b7/8 carefully if considering those... The b8 has been agreed by its creator to have failed in the medium term and is now even more of an academic exercise than a suggested portfolio.

That said, there are lots of great info / stats / thoughts on doing this on that board.
