Solicitor Delaying?

Hey guys, some of you may of seen my topics before and got a great deal of help and advice here, it was found out my aunt (executor of will tried to steal from my dads will, making the excuse up the payments we were given were interim payments).

Her solicitor has taken over it and give us the break down or belongings and rest of money owed.

How ever it has been 2 weeks now and this solicitor has made no further communication when we can recieve the rest of the monies/belongings to my solicitor or my mums, my mums solicitor is involved because she is appointee for my brother and sister whom are disabled.

My solicitor has been in contact more or less saying what is the delay and about police maybe getting involved.

I am under the impression that this solicitor won't speak with me, my solicitor told me this as its not professional etc..

What sort of steps should I take now? I really don't understand considering this solicitor is now dealing with it should be the case of issuing the cheques and belongings, it's been 2 weeks now. I have heard of solicitors can get a move on if a letter of complaint is issued against them?

My own solicitor stated my aunt could of spent money and is getting the rest of it back, which could be the delay. Need some advice.

Cheers.

You need to let your solicitor handle it and wait for a reply.

Two weeks isn't exactly unreasonable, especially as this is a case with parties arguing. He/she probably has to get information from their client before coming back to your solicitor with an answer.

Thanks for the reply, there is no arguing though when she got caught out , her solicitor took over it all straight away knowning what she has tried to do, and emailed breakdowns to my solicitors and my mums, my brother, sister and me are the only ones on the will, breakdowns are there with the rest of the money owed and belongings, the only thing needing done is our cheques issues and belongings shared to us.. so all information needed is there. Shouldn't my aunts solicitor (executors solicitor) not be letting us know what's going on?

Yes he should, and I'm sure he will. But you don't know if he holds money or items, so he's probably having to chase these up with your aunt.

I just don't think 2 weeks is a long time given the situation. Give things a bit longer, it sounds like at least you have most of the answers and there's a good chance of you and your siblings getting what you are due so that's positive, it's just going to take a little longer to physically have everything in your hands.
