the thought of having to take it daily is scary

Try being a type 1 diabetic that is difficult to control.

I have at least 8 injections every day and each one has to be modified dependent on the blood sugar tests and what I anticipate eating.
Get it wrong at last thing at night and there is every chance of having a Hypo attack in your sleep. If it goes too far - your just don't wake up - end of!

Who can forget that fateful night Andy

I have now got my appt for mri on 4th June which is 4 weeks since original neuro appt. I'm shocked at how quick the appt has been although it's at half 8 at night lol didn't realise they actually done these things at that time unless for emergency xx
I've had two or three routine MRIs booked for that time of night: the department is like the Marie Celeste and when I first arrive I sometimes wonder if there's anyone there!

It can be an eight week wait (I've had several in the past six years), but my last result only took three weeks, so it must depend on how busy the radiologists, who process the results for your consultant, are.

I've had just one with contrast and the injection was given, while still on the table, after the normal MRI and the scan followed a few minutes later.

The noise alarms some people, though I quite enjoy it (others do, too), so if you want to experience it, have a look on You Tube. They will give you ear plugs and headphones to reduce the noise level . You will probably be able to take along a cd of your choice, for them to play for you, too.

A bit of advise: Once you start moving into the tube, close your eyes and keep them closed.

what a waste of time that was. After 30 minutes under the scanner they tell me they cant do it as my brace is stopping them getting good images :(

Did the appointment letter not ask you to make contact if you had any metallic 'bits' due to accident or operation ?

I've always had such a letter, then been asked before the scan and asked to sign confirmation.

Yes I have those letters too. If you answer yes to any of the questions you must telephone before the appointment. It appears that they have two different types of MRI scanners.
