HoneyMoon/FamilyMoon

We are getting Married in Feb 2016 (WOOHOO!) Due to no childcare we have decided to take our children with us for a 3 night break in London (children will be 2 & 5)
It is a thurs, frid, sat coming home sunday over half term (so not to take boy out of school) would love a room with a interconnecting room, so kids can have their bit and we can have some space, but on a really strict budget (£300)

No idea where to start looking.....

Travel lodge is a bit basic, and wanted something a little special, never been on a family holiday before

Has anyone done this in London? Or can recommend a lovely but not too pricey hotel?
We are doing the train so not taking the car, so will be tubes and trains

Any advice/suggestions would be fab please
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:

Novotel are usually great for families, children go free if you share a room or half price if they're in their own room (but yours are a bit little for that). They have interconnecting rooms in most of their hotels in France but I'm not sure about the UK. The also have children's menus and play areas.

You might just get one within your budget, but Feb half term is a really busy time for European tourists visiting so you may have to pay a little more.

We got married in February too, the daytime was sunny enough for outside photos and it snowed for about a hour in the evening, it made it very magical.

What does that budget need to cover?
    Travel?
    Food?
    Or just overnight hotel?
  • budget is for the accomadation for 3 nights

I've had a look at Premier Inn for a room for 1 adult and 1 child for the dates you want.
Most of the London ones are over £200, but if you come out West a bit (Kew, for example) you can get them within your budget.

I can't speak for all of their hotels, but certainly many Premier Inns have the option of interconnecting rooms. You book online then phone the hotel and ask them to be interconnecting.
Book as 1 adult and 1 child in each room, but it is then up to you how you arrange things when you're there.

They do family rooms that would easily sleep the 4 of you (which wuold halve the bill), but I appreciate that that isn't ideal for a honeymoon.

If you stay further out or away from where you want tovisit you may spend a fortune on travel there and back.

Can you decide what you want to do/visit then see where would be the best area to stay to access these?

We stayed in the Docklands Ramada a few years ago. It was 20 minutes out by DLR and had two bedrooms as a suite. Can't remember how much it was though. Maybe something like that would suit you?

If you've got any ex-service personnel in your immediate family then you can stay at the Union Jack Club for dirt cheap.

Maybe serviced appartments such as Go Native might fit the bill. I think the four person ones have two bedrooms and a small living area.

Keep a look out on holidaypirates, groupon and wowcher for deals around that time.

They are very cheap if you can get the right time.
  • Things like airbnb may also be an option for you
