I know this is insanely obvious, but..........sometimes the most obvious things get overlooked. His friends, they have migrated to the Xbone and not the PS4 haven't they?
It's just this generation, there's been a lot more cross console migration than might have happened before, particularly from Xbox to PS0 -
It won't be worth keeping the membership on the 360 as I've heard that by the end of the year most 360 games will stop connecting with the Internet. Don't take my word for it though look this up, I'm just going on whispers.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £3911

Those whispers are incorrect & misguided. While there's no direct comparison between the two it's worth noting that the original Xbox's connection to Xbox Live was not shut down until 2010 - 4 years after the 360's release. There will be large numbers of games which have no server support because the publisher has removed it (older FIFA's spring to mind) but the Xbox Live service will remain available I'd suspect for atleast another 12-18 months & more likely another 2 years.
Even then, it's still 100% possible to play the vast majority of games without an active connection to Xbox Live.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Totally irrelevant, as xbox gold works across both consoles, as no further purchase needed, both can be in use at the same time..
The free games for gold can then be acquired for the 360 and xbox one respectively.WorkFromHome wrote: »It won't be worth keeping the membership on the 360 as I've heard that by the end of the year most 360 games will stop connecting with the Internet. Did I say it wasn't? Most gamers will have played their games to the max and it's Live that keeps them playing for the interaction with worldwide members. That will eventually be taken away from them on most games. By doing this Microsoft encourage members to buy the new console so they can carry on connecting to other players.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

IF they did disconnect the 360 from Live so soon, I'd be less bothered about the multiplayer element because by then all new games by then will be Xbone only...)or PS4 of course, but I mean for Live) and the older games which had multiplayer will either be all but abandoned, or full of idiots with mods making them invincible.
I'd be a lot more bothered about the inability to download updates and patches.
There's bound for years to be people getting an Xbox 360 due to the fantastic back catalogue of games you can get for absolute peanuts. The games though need the patches. Imagine to take it to it's extreme buying for the first time say Skyrim with no patches. That game had more bugs than a campsite in the jungle.0 -
Just get a PS3 or PS4, always a better option. Or tbh, I believe that computer gaming is the best.0
