How it works

There are two categories: under 12 and age 12 to 17.
We’d like your children to send us an article (no more than 500 words) about their travels, whether it’s a camping trip in the UK or a round-the-world odyssey. It could be a funny account of when things go wrong, a thoughtful piece about a place where they learnt something, or a good old-fashioned write-up about a fabulous beach holiday.
The winner in each age group will have their article published in Family Traveller.
They will also win a family holiday to Wales, courtesy of Visit Wales, and will have the chance to write an article about this trip for Family Traveller.

Under 12s First prize
The winner in the under-12 category receives two nights’ bed and breakfast for a family of four at the Waterloo Hotel in Betws-y-Coed, plus a day at Bounce Below, the world’s first subterranean playground at Zip World Titan, with giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels.

Over 12s first prize
The over-12 winner receives a two-day, two-night family adventure holiday for four with Preseli Venture in Pembrokeshire, including eco-lodge accommodation and the opportunity to experience adrenaline-fuelled activities such as coasteering, sea kayaking and surfing.
