Oslo pass - worth it or not?

I am about to go to Oslo for 4 nights. The pass covers transport and museums. Is it worth it or is there also a travel only pass and we could just pay entrance fees to individual museum if we go?

As a general rule, it is very difficult to make these cards value for money but it depends what you want to do. Some people want to spend the whole time going from one museum to another and it might be worth it if that is your idea of a break and Oslo is the most expensive place I have ever been to. But, on a sunny day I would much rather sit in a cafe by the harbour and soak up the atmosphere whilst drinking very, very slowly and looking away from the rather brutalist City Hall behind me. Paying for an Oslo Card only makes use if you use it heavily, individual tram, bus and metro tickets are 30Kroner for one journey, 90 for 24 hours and 240Kr for 7 days.
If you are flying into the main Oslo airport and the card includes the Flytoget Express to Oslo Central then you could be saving 180 Kr each way but unlikely to be of assistance if you are flying with Ryanair to Torp which is 110Km away from Oslo. Only you can decide whether the attractions included make financial sense for you, check out https://www.visitoslo.com to see admission prices, its not for me, but it may make sense for you0 -
Yes that is what I suspected. I have now found out details of the 24 hour tickets which you mention so will probably just go for those. I am flying with BA into the main airport. I am not sure how good the weather is going to be. The forecast is unfortunately for rain.0

As you are flying BA,the quick way into Oslo is the fast train at 180Kr but you can also take the local NSB train for only 90Kr, on Saturdays' they seem to be twice an hour at 03 and 13 minutes past most hours. Use the red NSB ticket machines, the airport would prefer you use the fast one as they make a lot more money but all the platforms are directly under the airport building. A quick check of BBC weather is more optimistic about the weather so don't give up hope, but it certainly won't be warm. Really like Norway, just cannot afford to stay there too long!0

A trip to the Helmenkollen ski jump and museum is well worth it.
The metro journey there, the view when you get to the jump, the view from the actual jump, the architecture and engineering of the jump and the museum which even for a none skier is interesting.0 -

Totally agree the view from the top of the jump is stunning.
If the weather is good jumping on the ferry to the islands is also a nice trip.0
