Credit card advice needed

Hi all - any advice, greatly appreciated.
I'm trying to help out a friend who has 6k on a credit card, paying interest. I've looked in to a balance transfer card and she's applied to Halifax but they have only approved her for 2.5k at 0% over 18 months. The time isn't the problem but what is best to do?
Go for just the 2.5k and keep the rest on the existing card or try for another and hope they'll approve more? I'm concious of it affecting her credit file more.
Thanks very much!

BT what you can to the Halifax and then perhaps apply for one more card. If declined, leave it a while.0

I think you can get it. It will approve, when you concerns with your bank manager and tell him your problem. I think it will help you.:jFree ATM Placements:j0

I think you need to stop post building. It's a little embarrassing.0
