Dishwasher fault argument with Bosch

Hi, we were bought a new Bosch Classixx just over 2 years ago and the motor has corroded, resulting in water in the base and it's shorting the electrics.
We got an independent engineer in. I told him it was about 4 years old, as I'd forgotten how old it was, and he said it should have happened to a 4 year old machine. As it is, it's just over 2.
We have contacted John Lewis, who said it's Bosch's problem as it's out of warranty, and Bosch said they can't take the word of an independent engineer as they don't know their qualifications. So, we should pay to have one of their guys out to look at it, which will cost us nearly £100. We're trying to get them to agree to pay that if there is a fault that shouldn't have happened, but that's proving difficult. Also, we're very sceptical about their own guy coming round and saying what Bosch want him to. Help!
