Parent support income declaration?

Hi
Filled out our household income information as requested by SLC to support our sons application.
When entering gross income, I was also asked about taxable benefits (company car etc.) which I entered. On the last page the taxable benefits were added to the gross income. Is this right? We don't physically see any of these benefits and they are not income we can spend.
i don't remember taxable benefits being mentioned as income on loan calculators we had used.
Could anyone shead any light please? We haven't recieved an award yet but our initial affordability calculations may be well out!
Many thanks
