Travel insurance to cover consequential losses?

Good morning
I know this has been asked before and I've tried searching but have failed to find the info :0
I'm considering a trip to Boston but, in order to make it within my budget I'd have to pre-pay the hotel. I'm a bit worried that if my flights were cancelled/changed I'd end up losing the money I'd paid for the hotel so am looking for travel insurance that would cover this. (The hotel booking is over £1000 so it would be a lot of money to lose!)
I usually only book hotels that are fully cancellable at short notice so tis has never been an issue for me before.
Thank you

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

All travel insurance would cover the hotel if the flight is cancelled and a refund isnt available from the hotel if the reason for the cancellation of the flight is covered. Most reasons are covered but things like booking the flight after industrial action is announced wouldnt be for example.0

For example, if the flight is cancelled due to a mechanical problem? Crew 'out of hours' etc?
I've never had a flight cancelled on me before, but there are so many stories on here about flights being cancelled for different reasons..........2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Both of those would trigger a delay not a cancellation. You'd be very unlucky if your plane broke down and they cannot fly you out for a fortnight but if that did happen then your travel insurance would cover both those issues.
The most infamous of recent years that wasnt covered by some insurers was the volcanic ash issue because it doesnt fit into the normal terms of bad weather etc.0 -

Thanks
Yes, I was in California when the volcanic ash cloud went up and our insurers didn't want to know (:( ) but the airline were brilliant (:) )so it wasn't too much of an issue then.
It's only a six day trip so I'm thinking that if the flight was cancelled and they couldn't rebook me for a few days (only one direct flight a day and I'm guessing pretty busy in August) it probably wouldn't be worth going.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
