Feeling a bit better today, so I have done some washing and have been pottering in the raised beds.
All the fruit trees are in blossom (four apple, one pear and a cherry and our neighbour has plums, and the garden looks very pretty at the moment. I am going to fleece them up tonight, because if a frost kills the blossom that will mean the fruit harvest will be bad
It is true what they say
"Never cast a clout 'till May is out"!
It snowed the May that DS was born, and it snowed at the end of May as well, that was 1994 and the nurses were bringing extra blankets round because the heating had been turned off and it was freezing, most of us used our dressing gowns to keep warm (I was seriously ill in hospital for 12 weeks after DS was born)
I even remember it snowing in June 1975
DH has told me not to do too much today and just pace myself, he knows me too well...........:p
It is a little overcast now but still dry, I will get DS to bring some logs and coal in when he gets in from college, just in case it gets colder.
Feeling tired now so I am going to rest this afternoon.
elona I hope that you are ok xxxxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

*Sticks head around door* I'm still here, just not had chance to get onto MSE the last few days.
Things sort of went to hell in a handbasket here, been dealing with the fallout.
Thankfully, we have 2 Cocker Spaniels staying with us, and they've helped me get through it.

Good Afternoon everyone, busy morning in town this morning and then came home made lunch and have walked that Dockling too. Just catching up here and making a cuppa in a minute. He Who Knows is off in a couple of minutes to saw up and collect another tree for the woodpile and we were given another wooden cradle and a substantial pallett too this morning, next winter will not be short of wood!!! We are going to have the builder renew some of the pointing on the extension downstairs and He Who Knows has just suggested that while he's doing that he tops up the insulation in the roof as well, there is a noticeble difference in temperature under there when it's cold and my armchair is just underneath it so that will make for a more comfortable winter too I hope.
Docky had a lovely birthday and says 'Fank Yew orl veri mush fer sendin ver luvli messigiz tew mey!' he's flat out beside me now having a rest/doze.
I've just cottoned on to the Slimming World recipes online and had a look for fat free ingredients when in the SM this morning, found A*di was the source of many things and much cheaper than T*sco including 4.5% fat lean beef mince for £2.59 for 500 grams. I shall use them in future and hope to shed some excess weight before DD and I pootle off to Barcelona in July. I'd like to be able to wear some skirts and loose light tops instead of my usual jeans and teashirts. I'm giving it a good go anyway.
Have yourselves a good afternoon all, Lyn xxx.0 -

Afternoon all. Stupid laptop playing up this morning so couldn't get online. Yet another trip to my new best friend the repairman. I had an old desktop pc for 12 years and it only once went for repair. This laptop is there every few weeks!
It's been a horrible day with all sorts of weather getting chucked at us today. Rain, hail, sleet and snow, plus a little bit of sun.And oh so cold!
We went out for late lunch so I could have a reasonably easy day before my op tomorrow. Only to the Brewer's Fayre but I had a lovely Smothered Chicken, Caramel Apply Betty & Custard. Accompanied by a large wine. Now feel pleasantly mellow and not quite as worried about tomorrow as I was. What will be will be!!
Just my bag to pack shortly and then I'm ready! No doubt there will be much waiting around so my book going with me too. I'll be glad when it's all over and, hopefully, find out what's causing the neverending uti's. After 16 months I really have had enough of them dragging me down.
Have a good rest of the day all. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Evening, just popping by, been another busy week and more to come for next few weeks to. I am going to be strict with myself and meal planning etc and not get side tracked into bad old ways again. With DD doing another year at Uni and DS about to finish college we really want to get our act together and financially sorted so DH doesnt have to work away all the time. Dinner tonight was veggie spag bol, DW not full so not putting on yet, WM been on and washing on the airer so not using drier. Good news Ive just been given a payrise, it works out a tenner a month but is welcome. Thoughts to all.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

good evening chums had a pleasant day just 'pottering' then went to quiz night at the local pub and our team came second
:):) so another bottle of plonk to go into the stash. We save it up until there is enough to go into the 'stash' then have a share out of a bottle each.
Our supper meal was a jacket spud with cold chicken in a tarragon sauce ,very nice and filling and comes with the price of the quiz which is £2.00 each team member.Great night out with grub thrown in for quite a small outlay. As the landlord says it puts butts on seats and fills his pub up on a normally quiet Tuesday night ,win-win really
Right I'm off to bed now Good Night god Bless all here
