in Cutting tax
I currently work 2 part time jobs. One is seasonal april-october paying £600 per month and the other is all year paying around £400 per month. I will not earn £10600 this year but have been taxed at 20%. Do i have to wait to claim the tax back?

Are you self employed, and do you have a utr number???0

No, the employment is with 2 seperate companies, and i do not have a UTR number.0

You should get a rebate via the companies that deal with the hrmc that's what happened when I was employed. But that was 7 years ago, iv been self employed since.0

Sorry i may of jumped the gun a bit as i do not yet have the first payment of the seasonal employment to check the tax code, but from the hours worked compared to what i have been paid i can see i have been taxed. Was just looking for some information on wether i could prove i would not be earning over the personal allowance or if i would have to wait until the end of the seasonal employment for any sort of rebate.0

you can ask HMRC to split your tax code between the two employments so neither are taxed
do you know either of your taxcodes?
what happened last year or was the situation different?0 -
If your under 10600 you will get your full tax back , it would be worth ringing hrmc and asking them to advice. But I'm sure it's sorted out for you if your employed0

I only had the permanent job last year and therefore wasnt taxed at all. tax code was 944L on the p600

Thanks for the responses. Looks like il be better waiting until next month to see if things work themselves out, and to have the tax codes from the first payslips of the new tax year.0

You have the right to tell HMRC how much of your allowances you want given to each employment.
On the figures above you will earn £4,200 with one employer and £4,800 with the other. You have allowances to spare do you have a spouse or civil partner?
Ring HMRC and tell the you want a code your allowances allocated £5,000 to the first employer and £5,600 to the second.
In November when your first job has finished, ring HMRC again and change your allowances against that employer to be equal to the earnings by transferring any unused to the second employer. The only thing that is constant is change.0
