Mailing DVDs

Options
Has anyone any suggestions for the best way to pack a single disc for mailing? The obvious way is to use a case and a padded bag, but I'm a bit concerned that it might get blown to smithereens by the bomb squad, so I wondered if anyone successfully uses a DVD envelope inside an ordinary mail envelope.

Why's the bomb squad explode it?

The LoveFilms discs used to just come in thin cardboard envelopes. Dont think much of their stock got exploded when going to/from customers, certainly I always received mine and only once had an issue of them not receiving it back.

Couple of pieces of cardboard, taped together.

If the bomb squad blew up every package with padding inside, there'd be no gunpowder left for bonfire night :)
  • Two pieces of card it is, then.

I thought if a private individual (rather than Amazon) sends a padded bag to the Chief Executive of a big organisation (rather than a private individual) when he isn't expecting it (rather than when he is), it might attract a bit of attention.

Well that begs the question of why you're doing it then. I think you could be right that this could be viewed with a degree of suspicion. Even if it's not blown up I doubt whether the CEO will ever see it anyway.

Working for an organisation that isnt generally liked.... no, all post is scanned and explosives, biological agents etc are in theory detected by the scanners irrespective of who its sent to.

Marketing companies frequently send unexpected packages to senior management to try and win business and as the stack of junk on the Marketing Directors desk it certainly gets through to him.

Back in my days of working for Tesco's we had a problem for a while as there were issues with a teddybear which had some electronics in it but each time a customer posted one back to us the mail scanners bomb alert would go off as there was something about it it simply didnt like. According to the post guys they'd had other similar items posted without issues but this one particular brand/model set it off every time.
