Unknown reverse charge call on Virgin Media Bill

I am just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. On my latest VM bill there is a charge for an international reverse charge call from the States. 1 minute = £7.40. Not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, but as I NEVER accept reverse charge calls and it was timed at four minutes past five in the morning (I rarely get up before 8am!) I was concerned. I rang Virgin yesterday who fobbed me off with an 0800 number to find out who it was (this number couldn't help anyway as they don't list overseas numbers) and Virgin also said there is no way of rejecting these reverse charge calls if the call goes to answer phone and you have a non-Virgin answer phone system. This just doesn't sound right to me.

I'd be interested to know anyone else's experience and views as to what Virgin told me yesterday. Incidentally I rang them again today, obviously an overseas call centre and after a call of half an hour they have given me the credit back, but I am still concerned that calls such as this could be made again with the result of the same waste of my time sorting it out.
