We're on upto8 ADSL (in the sticks; we get about 7Mbps so we're lucky) but the crappy (plusnet) Thomson modem/router is not reliable; it needs a reboot every week or 2; I think its the wifi interface that locks up (DHCP probably).
Any suggestions? We don't have any modern kit so don't think ac is necessary; something like TP LINK WD8980 dual band N600 (Archer D2 unnecessary?). About £50. Cheers!

I have had this one on my Plusnet for about a year now, it was easy to set up, provides both wifi bands, and the range is a bit better than the one Plusnet supplied.0

Asus RT-N56U, it's REALLY nice bit of kit for about £60.
You'll never need another router.
Edit - Sorry, the ADSL version is the DSL-N16U or DSL-N55U (not completely sure), slightly more expensive.
I would probably buy a cheap ADSL modem (£15) and then buy the RT-N56U so that in future, upgrade to fibre will not mean a new router.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Any suggestions?
Set a static IP so you're not using DHCP to allocate IP addresses.0
