EON - How long for final bill, switched away 16th April

I switched to Ebico on the 16th April and letter from them confirmed all switched over fine.

I was previously with EON and wondered how long before their final bill is produced? When I log on online there is nothing listed any-more under plans with them but no sign of a final bill either.

I like things to be tidy so wondered how long it is before they send me my final bill?

Many thanks

  • Have you sent them a final reading?

When I left Eon (I'm back with them now but that's another story) last year, they took my reading as the final one. No-one came to read the meter. My new company also took the same reading as my start reading.

But I think the new company sends the final reading to the old company.

I switched from OVO to EON in December- final bill and credit took 34 days after switch ,which seems to be the normal sort of timescale for suppliers (ie 4-6 weeks after switch).

    Good morning tillycat123,

When a customer changes supplier, the new supplier sends the meter reads the customer has provided to them, to the old supplier.

This is all done electronically and has to go through a third party.

It means the start reads and the closing reads will be exactly the same to make a smooth transfer.

It can sometimes take a little bit of time for the reads to be sent through, once we have them though we'll produce your final bill.

As you have an online account, we'll send you an email to let you know your bill is ready to view, it'll also say at the bottom of the bill how we'll refund or claim any outstanding balances.

If you need me to double check your account to see if we've had the reads yet, just shout up it's no problem at all.

I do think it may be a little longer yet though. :o

Many thanks all, replies seemed quite varied so I've called eon to double check.

Lady said they have readings so it will be another couple of weeks for bill to be produced, seems a long time to me but hopefully all tallies up when it does come.
