Praise - local pub chain

Tonight me and about 30 others went to a pub for a meal for a colleague that left us earlier this month. Booked it about three weeks ago.
This morning, there was a fire in part of the kitchen, which made some of it unusable and therefore limited the menu.
It was a drinks only pub for other customers and they saved what they could cook (heat) up for us.
When we came the pub, the manager let us ring around other places in the area if they can put 30 of us at the last min, didn't mind if it was 5x tables for 6 etc. None could cater that many at very short notice. We were stuck as some were only dropped off by their OHs etc and those that drove all had someone they picked up. There were more of us than car seats. Plus these other places we rang around weren't walking distance - 3-4 miles away.
So the manager rang the area manager explaining above. They gave us the limited menu and first two drinks for free.
They already lost money by not having Sunday lunch - no idea how many they normally cater on a typical Sunday. They lost out about £350 on us on food - taking £10 for a meal plus about 12 had a pudding. plus a further £200-215 on drinks.
The two waitresses and the manager were fantastic:T. We have the names of the staff involved and some of us are going to write to the head office about this.
The pub could easily charged us for the food and drinks as I have been to pubs before and there was told a vital piece of kitchen equipment has broken down and X, Y and Z are off the menu.
Despite of the uncertainties of the food, it was a very enjoyable evening.
