I started my PPI claim back in August 2010 with Tucan Claims who went bust and High Street Financial took over which they asked me to sign for them to continue with my claim which i did without realising they were charging me on top of the payment I had already made to Tucan Claims. My claim ended up going to the Ombudsmen to be sorted out which i ended up contacting as High Street didn't keep me up to date and also told me conflicting information. My claim has now come through and they now want a percentage do I have to give them the percentage even though I ended up liasing with the Ombudsmen to continue the claim.

You can make a complaint to them. In particular, if they did not make clear that the terms of Tucan would continue, then you have a case. If you also had to do the legwork yourself, you could argue that they should pay for your time. The difficulty is proving you had to become involved - although FOS may have records to support that assertion.0

Thank you for your advice I have dates of when I phoned and chased my claim I also have a letter from the Ombudsmen asking for information and an email from the Ombudsmen of a letter which was sent to High Street Financial but they didn't forward it on to me. I have now written a letter of complaint and have given them two weeks to answer me0
