Insurance for a Digital SLR Camera???

Hi
I couldn't find a thread that would cover this topic...????
I'm buying a Digital SLR camera (Pentax) and I will be only paying about £300 but will have several lenses that I already own with me when I take the camera out & about.
I was wondering if it's worth getting insurance cover for theft and/or damage would be good and if anyone knows where/what company to use + how much would this cost!
I can't really find anything.. .most people I know have content insurance on their homes but I live in a ex-council flat share with friends and will be moving again soon... I move a lot - bedsits/studio flats etc... so I can't get content insurance and I don't own much anyway... cheap PC and a huge pile of books!
I live in London and walk everywhere - ie: dodgy areas - with my camera (I have a film SLR at the moment) but as I'm getting older (and scaredier
) I don't want to lose my camera by being mugged plus it may get dropped or damaged or my place could get burgled - I have never had these things happen so far so a part of me thinks why bother! If I lose stuff or it gets broken then I do without until I can pay for a replacement.
I'm just wondering if there is a better alternative and if it's a low price per month or a one low payment for the year it may be worth getting.
your thoughts, info, input will be appreciated.
Thanks
