So went into the dealer, the GT I was looking at was sold - do forgetting that as there is so few about.

The only nearly new match they had was a colour I didn't want. He persuaded me to look at a new one
List price with no discount, apart from £1250 dealer contribution if I take finance

I asked again, no other discount? No
So if I purchase without finance it is full list price? Yes

I thought maybe even a little discount would be offered!

I'm currently in carwow to see what prices spring up, otherwise I wait for a match in a colour remotely near to what I like
  • The GT has a slightly hight BHP output. If that is your thing then go for the GTI. Otherwise Match or Bluetec is fine.

£17705 for a new Match.1.4tsi(125) 5dr in metallic manual on Drive The Deal.

Take out on PCP to retain 1250 of the discount then pay off when delivered.

I looked at a Match and GT but in 150 tdi.
The Match looks better value. Less blingy, more practical 16" wheels but with the same underpinnings and engine.
I think the Match may be one of the models aimed at fleets where the list price is lower to reduce BIK. Many other makers use the term business edition.
High spec, lower list price, less discount for the same car.
