One piece of exercise equipment

Options
I need to get rid of my treadmill, static bike and rowing machine to make room. So I have been considering a cross trainer. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons? Is there a better piece of equipment I could use? Thanks

Thanks I think walking is great exercise and underrated, I do walk but would like something with a bit more resistance and that will work my upper body too. :)

Why wouldn't you just hang onto one of the pieces of equipment that you have?

Tesco bags full of rocks! Upper body strength can be built up better by doing curls with weights and press-ups than a cross-trainer can offer :-)

    Best advice?
As a self confessed gym addict (though compulsion to be at the gym isn't the way I'd describe it...more fear of not going!) invest in a decent pair of trainers and replace them at least once a year and every 500 miles is the given advice which seems to hit many at the 6 month mark.

Get fitted, get interesting designs and unique one-off or niche designs...invest in really cute and comfortable sportswear and you may find you want to go outside or to a gym to exercise purely because you feel better about yourself rather than feeling that you don't want to be there.

I don't need encouragement to go to the gym there is a one at work, but I'm a morning person and like to do a quick burst when I get up. Out of the equipment I have none of them would do the job alone which is why I thought cross trainer. Carrier bags full of rocks doesn't seem much fun ;) but I could use hand weights on the treadmill

I use all the different cardio machines at the gym and I find the cross trainer the least draining. I like it but sense it doesn't burn as many calories as it would have you believe.
