future schemes

Have you ever read or heard about future schemes that may be implemented after elections? For example increased benefits for leaseholders, or maybe discounts for share owners to buy the whole property, or anything like that, maybe support from government, etc. Because I would like to know if I should wait a bit before buying something, if there is something good planned ahead.

Each of the major parties (and the minor ones too) have published manifestos. They are available from the party headquarters, and online.

Holiday Haggler I've been Money Tipped!
Realistically you'll have to wait for the Queen's Speech before you find out what the timelines are for implementing anything.

I am planning to shortly start offering odds on what topic spezial will next seek information on. Currently my list includes

    * property investment opportunities in Lithuania
    * property tax avoidance opportunities through marriage to a non UK citizen
    * feasibility of getting DWP to fund a BTL mortgage
    * best insurance company to use to cover theft of gold investments (coins/bars etc) kept hidden under the bed.

Before offering final odds, I am open to alternative suggestions.

Can I convert a sewage works to residential accomodation?

Does adding three porcelain cats to a flat increase its value? (the flat, not the cats)

Can I flag down an HS2 train in Kenilworth to get to London?

Will Leeds Castle offer me a discount on stonework to repair a party wall?

To be fair some of his questions are potentially interesting points of discussion.

This one, for example, could lead to interesting questions regarding buying houses in the near future.

If the Conservatives win, for example, anyone buying a house for convenience but in no rush would likely benefit from a house deposit ISA thingy they mentioned, as that would give a nice free bonus to their deposit. If I wasn't looking to buy immediately, it certainly sounds attractive: even if you already have the deposit saved, you can merely pay in for 5 years and pocket the freebie cash.

I'm not aware of anything else specific, though, other than the usual questions of which parties lead to a stronger economy, higher likelihood of rate rises etc (neither of which I'm enough of an economist to know much about)
"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."

Don't be, G_M told you to read the manifestos, it's hardly the fault of anyone on here if you didn't bother.
