First time I got made redundant (well before the financial meltdown) I got 96 weeks pay ,based on a formula which took account of age and service HOWEVER next two redundancies were on statutory minimum -by 2009 I get the impression that most Companies had changed their terms for the worse.

Plebs like me will only ever get statutory minimum. If you went to the right type of school you'll probably get a golden parachute.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

I suspect there two most common payouts are

Statutory calculation of the No of weeks based on service.
    1. capped.(statutory payout)
    2. full pay.
  • When I joined our company it was one month for every year up to 24 + 6 months bonus (so max of 30 months salary for the old timers).

7 years later it is one month for every year capped at 9 months (and no bonus).
    Thinking critically since 1996....

When I was made redundant from a well know company I walked away with just shy of £7,000 for just under 3 years service. £6,000 ish was redundancy pay and an extra £1,000 for signing a 'compromise' agreement.

If your company is doing well then your offer doesn't sound very generous. Are they laying off lots of people though?
