Can you remember where you got that quote from? Your username suggests you're located near me :rotfl:

That's a bit misleading unfortunately, I moved to Bristol. There's loads of places on the Internet who can deliver though.

As for Silestone being the best I'm not convinced. There are are plenty of cheaper alternatives worth considering. Obviously go and look at them before committing.

I do a lot of work with Corian - it's lovely stuff to work with, but personally I'd never have it as a sink/worktop. Marks and stains too easily. I'm sure some of the darker or 'flecked' ones are better for hiding that though, as I've always worked in light colours for the work we've done for kitchens/interiors etc. They have a new range of dark colours which they say don't go white when scraped or scratched - think they're called 'deep' colours? But I haven't tried them, just got them in the samples box they send out!

To each his (her) own as they say;);), I prefer natural to re-constituted any day :A

I really don't like the idea of composite tops, anything with chipboard in it has to be less resilient than solid, but there you are, my view many will be happy with it.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

We had Silestone installed 2 years ago and it looks great, but it has chipped .. I though quarzt was really strong and it wouldn't break, so quite dissapointed by this to be honest. :(

Interesting observation. Is the chipping on the edges, perhaps at the joints or might it be where chopping and cutting has been done? Some feedback would be appreciated please!

It's on edge (which is the "bevel" type, I just googled this...), and I don't know how it happened (we didn't hit it or anything like that, I just noticed it one day...).
