John Lewis Price match

Hi,

Hope this is correct place to ask.

I have seen TV at Currys http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd-blu-ray/televisions/large-screen-tvs-32-and-over/lg-55lb580v-smart-55-led-tv-10001853-pdt.html#cat-0 - For £549 - dispatched within 2-4 weeks.

I have also seen the same TV in John Lewis http://www.johnlewis.com/lg-55lb580v-led-hd-1080p-smart-tv-55-with-freeview-hd/p1351174 This is £619 but with 5 years warranty.

Do you think John Lewis will accept Price Match?

No harm in asking but I expect JL will refuse it - the cost of a five year warranty would eliminate any price difference.

they don't refer to it as an extra , (read the description) , they just say 5 instead of the usual one or two

I have already completing the form but I thought I ask here to see what was your previous experience. If they refuse Currys because availability in instore or it's taking 2-4 weeks for delivery. Argos is currently doing it for £589. Will try them for a price match.

I once had a JL price match on a Sony TV recorder. The JL warranty was longer, but they did not look at this when making their decision.

The simplest way is for you to ask them!

They price-matched a TV for me in January that was £140 cheaper in Argos. The very reason I bought it from JL was the much longer warranty, and this made no difference to the price match. I checked online, but got the price-match in-store, so it worked both ways.

Hopefully they will price match, but even if they don't you should probably seriously consider buying at JL anyway, both for the length of the warranty and the fact that if it does have a problem it'll be them that you're dealing with rather than the cowboys at Currys.

Got an email from JL today. They have accepted the price match:-
