Parking fine from G24 for parking in Crewe

Hi all,

I've received in the post today a parking fine from G24 for the sum on £85.00 for 'leaving my vehicle in the car park in breach of the terms and conditions of parking' in the Grand Junction retail park, Crewe. If I pay within 14 days it apparently gets reduced to £51.10.

I didn't see the signs, had no knowledge of the permitted time for free parking and overstayed but have a receipt to show I paid for goods from the retail park.

After reading a few old posts from this site via google I am hoping for some advice on what to do.

Appeal to G24 - you'll get the standard load of lies back but at least you tried.

You might want to point out that they are breaking the rules as they are meant to offer an early pay discount of 40% so they are over charging by 10p ;)

Regardless, G24 are run by a bully called Adrian King who is so thick he struggles to even write his name. Appeal, await the rejection and then ignore them and their equally vile and corrupt debt collectors. They will offer you an appeal to IAS but they are also corrupt and in bed with the PPCs .... otherwise known as a kangaroo court ! So I wouldn't even bother appealing to IAS. Hopefully you're starting to see what a corrupt and immoral industry this is ?

I disagree. All IPC invoices should be appealed.

The reason for this is that nearly all IAS decisions are so seriously biaised in favour of the PPC, and would never stand up in court, that most PPCs are unlikely to try to take you there.

They will huff and puff, and even get tame solicitors to write to you so, but they know that they have shot their bolt.

Complain vociferously to the Retail park and/or MD of the national store. I did just that last month to a G24-infested retail park about a disabled passenger who walks with sticks, accused of taking seven minutes too long to look at kitchens! I found the case amusing in the end, because the retailer cancelled it just after G24 had sent a template rejection email saying:

'You now have one of the following options available to you: Pay/Appeal to the IAS... blah blah'.

    So I replied to G24:

'You now have just one following option available to you:

Cancel the PCN because your client, Homebase, understands the meaning of customer service and is aware of the implications of breaching the Equality Act 2010. See email trail of the complaint made, below.

Rejecting appeals out of hand will not avoid cancellations such as this one. The IAS is superfluous in such cases and clearly, if you had bothered to read the appeal, it was one that you should have cancelled all along.

    kind regards,'
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
