I get Loratadine prescribed by my doctor, they are 10mg and work for me, I am not sure if you can get stronger without a prescription.
I take one a day but as I suffer with dust allergies as well, I sometimes take a second one at night if the pollen count is high, it does make me very drowsy though0 -
It may be the type that is the issue, I take loratadine 3x the once daily tablets as they work out at £1 for thirty, with my prescription it was £8 for a slightly different brand.0

You can get a pack for £1 for thirty, you don't need a prescription, galpharm tend to be the cheapest in places like savers.0 -

I don't think there are stronger or prescription only hay fever medications. You need to find what works for you.

I use Telfast 120mg tablets with beconase nasel spray. I sometimes have to have stetoids as well.
new antihistamines are available.
if you have very severe hayfever, do ask the doctor for the latest advice, chat to the pharmacist. ...they are very helpful.0 -
Is the benadryl plus the one you can take up to three times a day? I take zirtek (the equivalent tesco brand), but when it gets really bad, I found benadryl three times a day was the only thing that helped. Saying that, I hadn't used it for a couple of years, and when I did last year, it made me feel quite poorly with headaches, so had to give it up. It came up as really expensive too.
What has been a life saver for me is steroid spray which my GP prescribes. It has changed my life.0 -
I'm on fenofexadine from the gp. It's pretty much the only thing that works0
