Aldi Delta Halogen Oven Fault

Bought the Aldi Delta Halogen Oven last October, £29.99. Tonight the glass bowl suddenly developed a large crack while operating at 200 degrees. Rang helpline, what a joke. I have to package it up and post it back under 3 year warranty. Should I be able to return to shop for refund/replacement? Are you allowed to send broken glass through Royal Mail? Sent Tweet to Aldi, no reply.Any comments?

If that's the terms of their warranty and you're making a warranty claim then yes they can ask you to post it to them.Bought the Aldi Delta Halogen Oven last October, £29.99. However, under the SOGA the seller is obliged to cover any costs so it may be worth contacting the store you bought it from directly. Also bear mind if it's been six months or more since you purchased the oven then the onus will be on you to prove that the fault is inherent to manufacture rather than via wear & tear, misuse, accidental damage etc.0 -
Thanks for all the interest.
I took it back to the shop this morning. Was asked what was wrong with it. Got a very nice apology from the manager and a full refund.
Full marks to Aldi for great customer service.A watched pot always boils. :j0
