Silly fund names

I just came across ConBrio Sanford Deland UK Buffettology General Inc? Known as CnBroSnfdDLdUKBftolgy to its friends. Anyone noticed any funds with sillier names?

If you change the 'o's to '0's it would make a good password :p

It's doing well though. Plus the fund manager looks a little unhinged. He's wearing a blue tie in a b&w photo.

    Where do I sign up
Left is never right but I always am.

    Gotta love the fund objective:

"The aim of the Fund is to grow the value of your investment over the long term and to achieve a performance superior to the UK stock market."

    So bland. So basic.

But then you take a look at the asset class breakdown and you notice 96% UK Equities, 4 % cash.

So isn't this fund.... made up of the UK equities that the fund is trying to beat somehow? How can it beat its own holdings?
    Goals
    Save £12k in 2017 #016 (£4212.06 / £10k) (42.12%)
    Save £12k in 2016 #041 (£4558.28 / £6k) (75.97%)
    Save £12k in 2014 #192 (£4115.62 / £5k) (82.3%)

My favourite ticker code belongs to The Scottish American Investment Co PLC.

    It's "SCAM".

It can't beat it's own holdings, but it doesn't have to hold the whole of the UK market; by choosing the winners and avoiding the losers, same as all the other UK Equity managers are trying to do, it hopes to beat them.

But does it actually say that?

I'm just going by what you quoted
... to achieve a performance superior to the UK stock market.
which can be done by only buying the winners.

It can even be done by holding all the same companies in different proportions than the market.

I discover that they do, in fact, make this up as they go along:
    Keih Ashworth-Lord:
ConBrio is the name that was chosen by Castlefield Investment Partners for their umbrella oeic, which UK Buffettology sits under as a sub-fund. Premier, the ACD, decided to reserve the name Premier for its own funds. It therefore required third party funds such as ours (and Sentinel) to choose a name. I had no input into this naming decision.

The name Sanford DeLand comes from two historic townships along Interstate 4 in Central Florida. With all due respect to Mark Slater and Terry Smith, I did not want to have a fund incorporate anything to do with my forename or surnames. Mrs A-L was driving up I-4 with me as a passenger one day when I saw the names pass alongside within 10 minutes of each other. I thought it sounded OK rather than pretentious.

Lastly, there is a Buffettology investment partnership run by David Clark out of Omaha, Nebraska. The reason for including UK in the Fund title was to avoid confusion with said partnership.
