next month my wages drop from £1300 pm to £440 how do i survive on this?? my rent tax and bills come in over this amount already really panicking. My friend who is also on maternity pay has just gone and spent £180 on a dress and i have no idea hows she budgeted for this. Any help advice would be fantastic.

council tax can be reduced in certian circumstances, speak to your council and check out the exemptions or reductions.0

Right, there are a number of different boards that can help you out here.
Even if you're not in debt already - the Debt Free Wanna Board are a whizz at helping to reduce overall expenditure. (I'll link to it below) They are likely to point you to the best boards for any given bills and expenses that you have. Such as...
The Benefits Board can help you out to see about how you can qualify for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
While the DFW Board can help you to consolidate and reduce bills we also have a Utilities Board which will be full of tips on how to get the best deals around for gas and electric and water, plus how to reduce usage. A Phone Board too!
Finally - when you've got all your bills under control - work out how much you have left, then pop back here and we'll show you a thousand and one ways to make the best of it with tips on household budget, shopping, cooking, cleaning and so on.

Perhaps she didnt? Remember everyone is different, she may have had savings, a credit card, or a very rich husband.
Dont worry about her. Make sure your getting all your benefits etc.Mummy to two girls, 4 & 1, been at home for four years, struggling to contend with the terrifying thought of returning to work.0 -
