Electric Central Heating
Options
HI
At the moment I have a multifuel burner that provides my central heating and hot water, which works ok, but I cant keep the stove on all night hot enough to heat the radiators. (Even though the stove is still a decent temparature, it doesnt transfer to the back boiler)
I am thinking of upgrading my central heating system as I hate waking up to a cold house, especially in winter.
To get around this I was thinking, since the hot water (for washing, baths etc) is stored on a tank, is it possible to store hot water for my radiators in another large tank, so when I put the heating on in the morning there is almost instant heat, and then when I can put the fire on to re heat this tank, or use a immersion heater to top it up as they only use 3Kwh, where as an electric boiler uses anything from 12-23kwh, unless I have misread some things
It is either the above or buy a new efficient stove so when the stove ticks over at night at a low temperature, this heat is absorbed and transferred to the radiators, and the stove doesnt need to be blasting to heat up my central heating.
Is the above possible?
I don't have access to gas and do have an E7 meter, which the immersion heater will run on over night.
Thank You

They do exist.
Google 'Thermal Store' and you should get some good results.0 -
Thanks for Ill look at your link and thermal store google0

The thermal store is usually just an extra very large Hot water tank which can be heated by the stove and/or an immersion heater.
Depending on the configuration of your house the plumbing can be quite complicated.0
