Hi,
Set our freeview recorder the other night for an ITV4 programme and it didn't record
It is available to watch on the ITV player (if I register), but is there a way to download and keep the programme forever?
I'd like to "rip it" and burn it onto a DVD.
Any help please?

If it's like most stuff on ITV4, you probably won't have to wait long for it to be repeated.
There was a product that would download iPlayer stuff, but it disappeared after a while and I recall reading that it was based on some pressure from the BBC. Maybe their agreement with the programme makers didn't allow that sort of thing.0 -

Use the free trial(fully functional for 30 days) of Camtasia to do a screen recording and burn it to DVD.0 -
www.keepvid.com or the Real Player download option may be able to save it..breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0

Cheers, just had quick sneek (at work) and it wants the URL for the programme. How does that work with ITV player?

Thanks, but it was the "LIVE" MCFC v CFC Youth Cup Final 1st leg footie match on from 7.30pm to 10pm, so won't be repeated! Shame as I set it but the box never recorded it0 -
Found the address but can't access it at work, this is from the Google cache

I use a browser 'add on' from ant.com to save videos to my PC
Would that do the job for you??0 -

Do you mean "get_iplayer"? This is still going, and remains a very useful & powerful piece of software. In particular, it allows you to download any radio programme, not just those that are made available as podcasts.
However, it is only for BBC iPlayer.
It is possible to use a screen capture technique to create a copy of a streamed video, but it is fiddly and can produce poor results.0 -

but its not free (demo comes with a 2 minute recording to prove it works). May be able to find it discounted somewhere (or an old free version). If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
