I have been quoted £200 for knocking down garden shed, removing it with all junk in it. The shed is approx 12' 5". Is this reasonable cost?

offer it on Freecycle. Someone would be keen enough to knock it down and take it away for themselves. Sheds seem to go in a flash on our local group.Saving money right, left and centre0

Yep, I put our garden shed on Freecycle and someone came and dismantled it all and took it away to rebuild it elsewhere. All for free of course!
Also, I listed the contents of the shed and they pretty much all went in a flash too.
You'd be surprised what folk will take from Freecycle so don't pay for someone to do it for you!0 -
Where in cheshire are you?
I'm thinking of building a new shed and might be happy to take the wood away for you!
(is it in decent condition?)0 -
Ah well, thanks for the reply anyway.
You could hire a van for a day (an escort siezed, not a transit) maybe £40-£50, 3 or 4 trips to the tip and the job's done? (Don't get a transit as it may not get under the barrier at some tips, take your hire docs too - to show you're not dumping trade waste).0 -
You could always wait until 5th November then just set fire to it!Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0

Seems expensive, but if there is a lot of junk and he disposes of it correctly then he may be charged for this too."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
