Most [decent] car dealers will refund the deposit with no quibbles. Peoples circumstances change all the time and the good dealers recognise this and would rather you walk away happy even if they don't make a sale. It's far worse to have a disgruntled customer.
The only exceptions are where:
(1) A car has been made to order
(2) The car has an unusual/unusually high specification that would make resale difficult.
(3) The car has been registered and taxed in preparation for the purchase and the dealer is past the stage where the V5C and tax can be amended. The man without a signature.0 -
The salesman said the cars sell themselves so no special deals were offered. The only spec was a trim.0
