Compost bins and recycled beer*

I've read that it is only chaps' recycled drinks that can be used as a compost activator.
Is this true?
Is it something to do with hormones or is it just an old wives tale and it's just that it's just that it's easier for a bloke to apply the product directly from source?:D

AFAIK It is to do with hormones and only chaps' recycled drink can be used.

We do have a compost bin and haven't needed to use anything. I find it takes a year to make compost, if you start in the Autumn its ready by the end of the following year. Just the top layer which hasn't turned.

It's just easier for the blokes to pee on the compost heap!

The ingredient that makes the compost break down faster is urea and we've all got that in our pee.

Whether male or female, avoid using urine from people taking medications which may not be broken down in the compost. You don't want a dose in your vegetables of whatever tablets the donor is taking!

Do you really think the amount of meds remaining in the compost after a number of months ( compost which is not ingested but spread on the garden and subjected to the weather) is likely to be harmful?

A lot depends on what the tablets are and how strong the dose and how much pee goes on the compost - I don't think anyone has done any testing to see if anything is left in the completed compost.

Personally, I'd rather avoid the possibility of ingesting other people's medication even if it's a small chance.

That's why I'm growing breasts, the wife pees in the compost.

Although I don't like the thought of it, I may give ours a soaking!
Is it best to wait until the morning wee or any time? Morning wee tends to be darker for me, so I guess this contains more "stimulant"?
