Couriers rude, refusing collection/exchange and making demands

Ask the company if you were to initially pay for Parcelforce to collect it would they be able to refund you the costs of the return.
It's possible that the company have a contract with DPD and are only able to arrange collections through them.
I also don't think it's unreasonable that they want to photograph the contents. Although you have sent pictures to the company DPD will probably still want to cover their bases, for all they know you haven't told the recipient that it's damaged and then a claim goes in against DPD for damaging the contents - a picture from then when collecting it shows that whatever damage has happened to the parcel hasn't been caused by them.
I'm not certain but this could easily go against a driver if they have damaged a package worth hundreds of pounds, it could potentially end up costing the driver his job so can you really blame them for that?0
