You would prbably be required to wear a long gown (or a cocktail dress). A skater dress would reaaly make you feel out of place (unless there are reality 'stars') lol

Does your OH have a tuxedo is the more imporant question?
No and thats another problem, am hoping to find someone who has a tux and is willing to go with me.

If you say what size you are and rough area (if you want to) one of us forumites might be able to help you out. I've got loads of dresses and a few shoes that may be of use - or is that not allowed on here?
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

Why has nobody asked what the actual event is? ... Am I the only one perplexed by the lack of asking of this question?

    Ahh doh :)
If it's Vinnie Jones, just wear a Wimbledon strip with a black tie, sorted ... I guarentee he'll talk to you more than anyone else if you turn up in a Wimbledon strip (with a tie, or a wee skirt, obviously) :) ... security might not see it this way so just go ahead and ignore everything I said :D

Ah your a sweetheart, but aside from the fact the event is in Leeds I don't wanna give away too much about myself.
Have seen some lovely dresses though thanks to various linkys posted and am off dress and shoe shopping on saturday.
Can do tk maxx and next in one place then if need be can go on to some shopping center or other.and if all else fails I will buy one off tintywebs

    Ahh doh

Yeah I was planning on maybe a lufc T-shirt or a movie t til I saw the strictly black tie note.
Still to find a fella with tux or a lass with pretty dress willing to go with me.
Not sure I have the guts to go alone and OH renting a tux would be difficult.

On ebay, choose 'dresses / ballgown / size / under £X (£20?) / either Buy It Now or view in Ending Soonest - really, there are thousands. You can definitely find something very easily and very cheap. Amazon are great for shoes. Silver would probably be a safe bet.
