Tesco are useless!

I was looking around for two Lonly Planet travel books for my backpacking trip. I'm heading of on monday so wanted the books to arrive in time to give me some preparation to plan my itinerary more extensively. I was pleased Tesco stocked the desired books as I have used them before and the book arrived a couple of days later. So I proceeded to purchases the travel books expecting them to arrive within a couple of days. Nine days later and nothing. Looked on the online states thing and they was Dispatched on 31 July and will be delivered by TNT with no estimate deliverey date. The thing that really tries my patience is having to wait in ALL DAY for them to arrive only to be disappointed then they don't, I don't want them to leave it as somebody might pinch it. Never going to use Tesco again. Sorry about my little rant.....

But if Tesco despatched them on the 31st then surely it's TNT that are useles and not Tesco?

    Have a good/safe trip by the way:D
  • Yes but if Tesco did not use TNT in the first place they would of been posted all ready.

Shouldn't you be a bit better prepared?

It's no good leaving things to the last minute :naughty: you can't rely on other people for things to get done you know.
  • Shouldn't use Tesco, those horrible multi-internationals. Phone local second hand shops save a few quid too.

Have a good trip, hope it all works out
Help me to help you :santa2:

with all the random postal strikes, first class things have been taking over a week to reach me....... really quite annoying!

they probably won't leave the books for someone to steal, they'll leave a card so you can go and collect or arrange redelivery - not a great solution, but better than waiting in all week!

I have heard that there are places you can go where books and other items can be found. I think they are called shops and can be found in the far off land of High Street.
Maybe just a folk memory of course, now must get back online to Amazon.:rotfl:
That gum you like is coming back in style.

You really should have called them on day three or four, not wait until day nine.... Did you actually call them at all? When my girlfriend's harry potter book didn't arrive on time she called them and they sorted it for her.

Also if you have to wait in all day that's surely your issue. If I order something that won't fit through my letterbox I get it sent to work or a friend or my parents. That way it's not an issue which day they deliver it.

How does sending it to a friend help if you don't know which day it will be delivered, or at what time of day? I often take parcels for my neighbour, but only if I'm there!

Sorry I wasn't clear enough - a friend that works from home, is retired or a hosewife/husband.
