POPLa /BPA/PE thing

new topic as new question

a few months ago PE managed to get POPLa to "freeze" all cases until todays date , as there is an appeal now going into the supreme court , can an individual or en mass ask for a "freeze" on the decision until the outcome?

the supreme court could take years and the lack of income due to the "freeze" could hurt them financially

there is also a chance , with "phone calls" etc that this next appeal could easily go on , and possibly exceed 6 yrs

No chance of any of that.

The Courts, and POPLA, only started staying cases once the COA had a firm and imminent date for the appeal hearing.

To get a case from the COA to the Supreme Court is around an 18 month time span, as per for example Makdessi v Cavendish Square Holdings - a case about commercial justification of penalties, heard in the COA in November 2013, now listed at the SC in July 2015.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
